ようやく秋の涼しさも感じられる季節になりましたが、会員の皆様におかれましてはいかがお過ごしでしょうか。2025年9月18-20日に米国アリゾナ州PhoenixにてACP支部長会議が開催されましたので、今回のGovernor’s News Letterでは、支部長会議の状況をご紹介させていただきます。2025年9月の会議では、前年度2024年7月-2025年6月の各支部の活動について総括の機会があります。支部での活動を本部が評価、確認し、優良な支部活動は表彰されます。日本支部は、2003年に誕生し、2023-2024で初めてChapter Excellence Gold Award 2024を受賞しました。今回、2年連続で、2024-2025年もChapter Excellence Gold Award 2025を受賞しました。優良な運営のため、本部からUSD 5,000が支給されます。これもひとえに、会員の皆様、各委員会の皆様、理事会の皆様の継続した、粘り強く、熱心で真摯な活動の賜物と存じます。改めまして厚く御礼申し上げます。また支部活動を支えていただいている事務局スタッフの皆様にも重ねまして御礼申し上げます。

また大変、栄誉なことですが、日本支部は、全米および世界の支部の中で、最も年会費の支払い完了率が高いことが知られております。会員数は約1,100-1,200, 2024-2025も日本支部の年会費の支払い完了率は約89%程度になっており、第一位を誇っております。ACP日本支部の活動への継続的なご理解とご支援を何卒よろしくお願い申し上げます。

新しいニュースとして、人気の生涯教育教材であり、米国総合内科専門医試験の試験勉強にも広く使用されているMKSAP (Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program)が刷新され、subscription形式 (1-3年)になりました。それにより最新情報が迅速に反映され、さらに学習しやすくなりました。引き続きぜひご活用ください。ACP会員は割引制度があります。

次にACP日本支部の活動につきまして、委員会の活動状況を共有させていただきます。
予防医学推進タスクフォース委員会 PMTSC による米国予防医療タスクフォース USPSTF 及び米国予防接種諮問会議ACIP の推奨項目を翻訳し、ACP日本支部のホームページで公開予定です。

年次総会講演会は、次回、 2026年6月27-28日（土日）で京都大学にて開催いたします。
日程をぜひ確保していただき多くの皆様のご参加をお待ちしております。大会長の牧石徹也先生（島根大学）と連携し、鋭意準備しております。

今回は、ACP アンバサダーとして、ブラウン大学からKwame Dapaah-Afriyie先生が来日されます。Kwame先生は2025年6月にも来日してくださり、再訪になります。
ブラウン大学での症例のインターアクティブなカンファレンス、総合内科のトピックスについてレクチャーをしてくださる予定です。そのほか米国から教育熱心な先生が複数、来日する方向で調整中です。皆様の診療に役立つセッションが目白押しのためぜひご参加いただけましたら幸いです。

最後に、2026年4月16-18日（木金土）で米国内科学会ACP年次総会 がサンフランシスコで開催されます。日本支部からもぜひ多くの方にご参加をお願い申し上げます。恒例のJapan Chapter ReceptionとChapter Dinnerを2026年4月17日金曜日に開催予定です。皆様のご参加をお待ちしております。

Governor’s Newsletter（September 2025）

With the arrival of autumn, we hope this message finds you well.

From September 18–20, 2025, the ACP Governors’ Meeting was held in Phoenix, Arizona. In this Governor’s Newsletter, I am pleased to share an update on the meeting.

At the September 2025 meeting, each Chapter was given the opportunity to present a summary of its activities from July 2024 to June 2025. The ACP national office reviewed and evaluated these activities, and outstanding Chapters were formally recognized.

The Japan Chapter, founded in 2003, received the Chapter Excellence Gold Award 2024 for the first time last year (2023–2024). This year, we are truly honored to announce that we have again received the Chapter Excellence Gold Award 2025, marking two consecutive years of recognition. In acknowledgment of this achievement, the national office has awarded our Chapter USD 5,000. This accomplishment is a direct result of the continued dedication, persistence, and sincere efforts of our members, committees, and Board of Directors. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the administrative staff who support our Chapter’s operations on a daily basis.

It is also a great honor that the Japan Chapter is recognized as having the highest membership dues payment completion rate among all ACP Chapters worldwide. With a membership of approximately 1,100–1,200, our Chapter achieved an outstanding payment completion rate of about 89% in 2024–2025, once again ranking first.

We sincerely appreciate your continued understanding and support of the activities of the ACP Japan Chapter.

In addition, we would like to share recent developments from the United States. With the change of administration, various impacts are being felt in clinical practice. In response, ACP has continued to demonstrate leadership by persistently issuing policy statements and recommendations on key issues.

As new educational news, the popular lifelong learning resource, the Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program (MKSAP)—widely used for preparation for the American Board of Internal Medicine certification and recertification examinations—has been newly updated. It is now available through a subscription model (1–3 years), allowing for the rapid integration of the latest evidence and more convenient learning. ACP members are eligible for special discounts, and we encourage you to make full use of this valuable resource.

Next, regarding the activities of the ACP Japan Chapter, we are pleased to inform you that the Preventive Medicine Task Force Committee (PMTSC) is preparing translations of the recommendations from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). These translations will soon be available on the ACP Japan Chapter website.

Finally, we are delighted to announce that our Chapter Annual Meeting will be held on June 27–28, 2026 (Saturday–Sunday) at Kyoto University. We very much look forward to your participation. Preparations are well underway in close collaboration with Congress Chair, Professor Tetsuya Makiishi (Shimane University). Please be sure to mark your calendars for this important event.

As part of the ACP Ambassador Program, we are honored to welcome Dr. Kwame Dapaah-Afriyie from Brown University to Japan. Dr. Dapaah-Afriyie, who also visited us in June 2025, will be returning for this occasion. He will lead an interactive case conference based on clinical cases from Brown University and deliver a lecture on key topics in General Internal Medicine.

In addition, we are currently coordinating visits from several other highly dedicated educators from the United States. The program will feature numerous sessions designed to provide valuable insights directly applicable to your clinical practice. We very much hope that you will join us for this exciting opportunity.

Finally, the 2026 Annual Meeting of the American College of Physicians (ACP) will be held in San Francisco from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 18, 2026. We sincerely encourage many members of the Japan Chapter to attend.

The annual Japan Chapter Reception and Chapter Dinner are scheduled for Friday, April 17, 2026. We look forward to your participation.
