東京ベイ・浦安市川医療センター 総合内科 中塚 無我

2026年4月、サンフランシスコで開催されたACP（米国内科学会）の「Doctor’s Dilemma」に日本代表チームの一員として参加しました。
会場の熱気は凄まじく、全米、そして世界中から集まった精鋭たちの知性に圧倒されました。私が参加したDoctor’s Dilemmaは、医学知識の正確さだけでなく、回答の瞬発力や英語でのリスニング力が試され、稀少疾患から医学史まで多岐にわたる出題でした。世界中のレジデントと同じ舞台で競い合った経験は、何物にも代えがたい財産となりました。
また、学会期間中は最新の臨床アップデートに触れるとともに、日本、そして海外の先生方とのネットワークを広げる貴重な機会を得ました。サンフランシスコの開放的な空気の中で感じた「世界の広さ」は、今後の医師人生における大きな財産となると確信しています。
最後になりますが、このような貴重な機会を与えてくださったACP日本支部の皆様、送り出してくださった研修先の先生方、そして共に戦ったチームメイトに心より感謝申し上げます。この経験を糧にさらに日々の診療の質を高めていけるよう精進してまいります。

In April 2026, I had the privilege of participating in the “Doctor’s Dilemma” at the ACP (American College of Physicians) Internal Medicine Meeting in San Francisco as a member of the Japan representative team.
The energy at the venue was overwhelming, and I was deeply inspired by the exceptional intellect of the elite residents gathered from across the United States and around the world. Doctor’s Dilemma is a demanding competition that tests not only the accuracy of one’s medical knowledge but also rapid-fire reflexes and English listening skills. The questions covered an incredibly broad spectrum, ranging from rare clinical conditions to the history of medicine. The experience of competing on the same global stage as my international peers has become an irreplaceable asset in my career.
Throughout the conference, I was able to engage with the latest clinical updates while building a valuable professional network with physicians from both Japan and abroad. I am certain that the “vastness of the world” I felt in the vibrant atmosphere of San Francisco will serve as a cornerstone for my future life as a physician.
In closing, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the ACP Japan Chapter for providing this precious opportunity, to my mentors at my training institution for their support, and to my teammates who fought alongside me. I am committed to drawing upon this experience to further enhance the quality of my daily clinical practice.
